Frequently Asked Questions
Sleep training can often be confused with leaving babies to cry for long periods of time. I provide a more gentle and responsive method of sleep training that meets all their needs and assists them to learn how to self settle, whilst achieving their maximum sleep potential for each stage of their development.
Will sleep training definitely work?
Every family and every child is different, but most families see significant improvement when the plan is followed consistently. Sleep can sometimes be disrupted by illness, travel or developmental changes, however the aim is to give you the understanding and tools to get back on track when life happens. If at any point I feel medical input may be needed, I will always advise this early so your child’s sleep can be supported safely and appropriately.
How long does the process take?
Some sleep challenges can improve within a few days, while others take a little longer. In most cases, families notice clear progress within the first 7–10 days, with continued improvement over the following weeks. The timeframe depends on factors such as age, routine, temperament and consistency. During your consultation, we’ll talk through what’s realistic for your family and how to achieve the best outcome.
Will my baby or child cry?
Babies and young children communicate through crying — it’s completely normal. Gentle sleep training doesn’t aim to stop communication, but to help you understand it. I’ll support you in recognising different cues, responding appropriately and meeting your child’s needs in a consistent, reassuring way. The focus is always on comfort, connection and confidence — never leaving your child unsupported.
Do you work with every family successfully?
I’ve supported many families in improving their child’s sleep, particularly when the guidance is followed consistently. Success depends on a number of factors, including commitment, routine and individual circumstances. My role is to give you clear, practical guidance and ongoing support so you feel confident implementing the plan in a way that works for your family.
Are results guaranteed?
I provide personalised assessment, guidance and support, but I can’t control how the plan is used once it’s in your hands. For that reason, specific results can’t be guaranteed. What I can guarantee is a thoughtful, supportive consultation and a clear plan tailored to your child. Families who follow their plan consistently often feel reassured, empowered and very pleased with the progress they see.
