Nice to meet you, I’m Laura
Hi, I’m Laura — a UK-based child sleep consultant and mum to two wonderful girls, aged 4 and 9.
I spent many years working in London as a professional, qualified nanny, supporting children of all ages, and before that I completed a BA in Early Childhood Studies at university. Supporting children and families has always been at the heart of what I do.
Sleep is vital for us to function in this ever-changing world, and when my first daughter was born I quickly learned how challenging sleep deprivation can be. Like many new parents, I read all the books, searched endlessly for answers (often in the middle of the night), and experienced many of the same struggles families face every day. We eventually found our way through — but it left me wondering, does it really need to be this hard?
During those early years, sleep was not always straightforward. We experienced challenges linked to developmental stages, regressions and changing routines. Those experiences led me to want deeper knowledge and clarity, so I could support my own family with confidence rather than guesswork.
That journey inspired me to train as an infant sleep specialist with Lucy Shrimpton, founder of the Sleep Nanny Academy and bestselling author of The Sleep Nanny System. Training with Lucy was a turning point for me, and gave me the tools, understanding and reassurance to support families in a calm, evidence-based and gentle way.
I’m passionate about children’s sleep and the positive impact it has on family life. My role is to support and guide you with practical, realistic strategies that fit your child and your home — so you can build healthy sleep habits with confidence.
